Nord Anglia International School Shanghai, Pudong (NAIS Pudong) was officially opened by Rt Hon Patricia Hewitt MP in 2002. It was the first British school in China and the first international school in Pudong, Shanghai.
Since then, our international school has gone from strength to strength and is regarded as the private school of choice in the area for families looking for an outstanding international education. Over 50 nationalities are represented within our private school and, as part of the Nord Anglia Education international family of schools, we create connections between students around the world. As the longest running British international school in China, we also take pride in our students’ excellent academic achievements and acceptances to the top universities in the world – for 20 years and counting.
ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE
Our students learn using the world’s most respected curricula, forming a lifelong love of learning and creating academic results that open pathways to top universities. Our students study the English National Curriculum, the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) and International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP). These qualifications are internationally recognised by all the major universities around the world. Our class sizes are small, with an average pupil to teacher ratio of 9:1, giving students the individual attention needed to excel in a fast-paced learning environment
WORLD’S BEST TEACHERS
98% of our parents say their child has a good or excellent relationship with their teachers.
Our highly accredited teachers and colleagues stay with our team for an average of six years, with some staying with us for much longer. This continuity helps build a strong base of expertise, with many colleagues promoted to senior positions within the school.
We take select teachers on subject-specific training every year with Apple, MIT and The Juilliard School. This exclusive training means our teachers are on the cutting edge of their profession.
EXCEPTIONAL LEARNING EXPERIENCE
To give our students the tools and skills to succeed, we cultivate their creativity and resilience through transformational experiences. This includes activities through our collaborations with world-leading organisations like The Juilliard School, UNICEF, and MIT.
