In an impressive display of academic excellence, students from Virtus College have once again showcased their prowess. During the recent 2024 British Biology Olympiad, Virtus students stood out among 13,000 participants from around the globe, securing a range of awards from Commended to Silver.
The British Biology Olympiad, a highly competitive event designed to challenge and stimulate students with an interest in biology, saw Virtus students achieve remarkable success. Their awards included Commended, Highly Commended, Bronze, and Silver—each category recognising the depth of their knowledge and their exceptional problem-solving abilities in the biological sciences.
Adding to their impressive track record, Virtus Year 12 students also triumphed in the International Senior Physics Challenge. Competing against over 6,000 students from across the world, the young physicists managed to secure both Bronze and Silver Awards. This prestigious competition tests students’ understanding of physics through rigorous problems and experimental challenges.
“We are immensely proud of our students’ achievements in these respected competitions. Their success is a testament to their hard work and our commitment to providing a world-class education,” said Mrs. Radford (Virtus Headteacher). “These accomplishments not only reflect the high academic standards of Virtus but also highlight our students’ ability to compete on an international stage.”
The community at Virtus is celebrating these achievements, which further establish the school as a nurturing ground for future scientists and leaders in the scientific community.
