Overview
Nord Anglia International School Manila is part of Nord Anglia Education, the world’s leading premium schools organisation.
Since opening in 2012, NAIS Manila has become the school of choice for expatriate and Filipino parents looking to provide their children with an international education. We are extremely proud of our pupils and strive to develop a warm and supportive atmosphere where they can thrive.
We offer a contemporary British international education to students in Early Years, Primary and Secondary up to Year 12, with Year 13. The school has grown steadily to over a 250-strong student body and boasts more than 30 nationalities, making it a truly diverse setting in which to study and work in.
Small class sizes allow teachers to focus on the individual needs of each pupil. All teachers have outstanding professional credentials from the UK with relevant experience in delivering the English National Curriculum. English speaking assistant teachers support all Primary classes and there are Secondary teaching assistants in the core subjects.
Top of the school’s priorities is the personal development of its students. Independence, teamwork and leadership, self-discipline, presence, awareness, tolerance, courage and determination are key attributes that students develop at the school.
Academics
Our curriculum is child-centred and personalised. In Early Years, learning takes place principally through guided play. As work gradually becomes more structured in Primary School, lessons are planned with a view to making them interesting and engaging. As they move into Secondary School, children receive teaching by subject specialists. Teachers plan lessons with differentiated outcomes, allowing for a range of achievements. This enables teachers to match each lesson as closely as possible to individual needs whilst providing scope for pupils to be stretched academically.
Extra-curricular
We view enrichment lessons as an integral part of the education of our children, and to that end we offer a wide range of after school enrichment lessons that aim to introduce the child to potential hobbies, develop particular sports, provide language learning or IT support and inspire an interest in areas that perhaps they would not be exposed to through the normal curriculum. Enrichment lessons are compulsory for every child at the school. Parents are asked to choose two enrichment lessons per term, usually representing a balance between active/sport and more intellectually inspiring programmes. Every student is required to stick to any given enrichment lesson for at least a term, reinforcing the idea that any commitment to learning must be followed through.
