Culturally French, Globally Minded – Established in 1963, the French International School of Hong Kong is one of Hong Kong’s first International Schools, and was the first school in Hong Kong to offer the IB Diploma.A world IB School – FIS is a through-train dual-language international school in Hong Kong boasting over 2700 students across 4 campuses.

Academics
Students in the international stream follow a programme based on the English National Curriculum and enhanced for our international setting. Because we believe that students should appreciate and understand their surroundings.
Students are taught in English and are required to study French.
We support students on their journey from kindergarten to secondary school. We are there for them every step of the way, from when they first learn to write, all the way through to their IGCSE and IBDP exams. We also help all our students apply to and prepare for studying at top universities worldwide.
Students in the French stream follow the French national curriculum set by the Ministry of Education,
culminating in the Diplôme National du Brevet (DNB) and the French Baccalauréat.
Our dedicated teaching and school support staff work hard to develop well-rounded global citizens.
They teach French and English language and introduce students to the local language and culture.
Students gain independence and self-confidence, develop digital skills and learn to get along with others.

Extra-curricular Activities
At FIS, extracurricular activities (ECAs) form an integral part of school life. ECAs are created just for FIS students and supervised by qualified professionals. There is a wide range of activities on offer, regularly monitored and refre
shed, from sports and arts to the cultural and educational, including swimming, gymnastics, football, tennis, basketball, multi-dance, kungfu, computing & robotics, Chinese and French languages, arts & crafts in Chinese and in French, drama, chess, yoga, urban gardening, sewing, journalism and much more. Model United Nations (FISMUN) and ISTA theater festival are regular parts of international activities gathering participants from other schools in Hong Kong and Asia. FIS International Sustainable Development Film Festival, now in its 3rd edition, features dozen of themed films made by students.

FIS is fully committed to the protection of children in its care and will ensure that all children in our careare afforded a safe and secure environment in which they are respected and valued and able togrow and develop.
We encourage children to talk openly and to feel confident that they will belistened to. We are alert to the signs of abuse and neglect and follow our procedures to ensurethat children receive effective support, protection and justice. Child protection forms part of theschool’s safeguarding responsibilities. We recognize that where safeguarding and child protectionare concerned – ‘it could happen here.’ FIS strictly adheres to all applicable local statutes withregard to child protection. We will ensure that our children enjoy the right to be protected fromharm and exploitation and to have their welfare safeguarded. The scope of this policy means that FIS will attend to all cases occurring within the 4 campuses as well as cases that are disclosed toschool staff, which might occur off school premises. FIS staff is trained to recognise signs of abuseand is committed to disclosing and acting upon any suspected abuse.
The school is alsocommitted to acting upon what is disclosed and, irrespective of where any abuse might takeplace, will do everything to support the child.This policy is available on the school website and is included in the staff handbook, volunteers’handbook and staff employment manualOur core safeguarding principles are:
