In Years 1 to 6 at Regents International School Pattaya, children follow the English National Curriculum, ensuring strong foundations in literacy and numeracy. Alongside this, students study the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), a highly respected programme that provides a cross curricular, thematic approach to learning.
Subjects such as Science, History, Geography, Art and Design Technology are taught through carefully planned IPC units that meet, and often exceed, curriculum expectations. This approach helps children make meaningful connections across subjects rather than learning in isolation.
Ms Tamika Daley Bacchus, Head of Primary, explains: “In their final Year 6 unit, children worked as historians and geographers, exploring home and host countries, global cooperation, and the impact of natural disasters. This helps them see how learning connects.”
An international focus runs throughout the IPC, encouraging children to be globally minded and socially aware. Units such as Saving the Rainforest and links to the Sustainable Development Goals help students understand real world issues and inspire positive global action.
