Our online school provides a free online safety course, and students consistently enhance their understanding of how to stay safe online through our PSHE (Personal, Social, Health, and Economic) lessons, which are available to all year groups. It is essential for students to learn how to protect themselves and others online while also developing their digital literacy and effective communication skills, both digitally and in person.
Students continuously improve their communication skills by engaging in lessons, participating in group discussions, taking part in class activities, and asking and answering questions. Communication skills are crucial for student development, so we encourage them to interact and engage during classes to help build their confidence in speaking with others.
Problem Solving & Critical Thinking
Online education provides opportunities for students to develop their ability to problem solve and think critically through a range of subjects. Subjects such as maths, science, and English form the core foundation of students learning and encourage the development of these skills. Online learning provides opportunities for students to identify, analyse, and solve problems independently, as well as navigate diverse information sources and evaluate information critically. The flexible nature of online learning also encourages adaptability to different learning environments and situations.
Independent & Team Work
Online school builds students’ ability to work independently and in a team-based environment as they will experience a range of group and independent tasks and activities to help build their confidence in working with others as well as by themselves.
Teamwork is a skill used in many aspects of life, so it is incredibly important for students to build their ability to work and communicate with others effectively. Working independently is also an important skill to develop as it shows they can push and motivate themselves effectively to complete tasks and activities without help from others. This also contributes to their ability to problem solve effectively.
