On May 24th, the SSIS community came together to honor the remarkable achievements of the Class of 2024 at the graduation ceremony. The event, held at the Kempinski Hotel Suzhou, was a joyous and heartwarming celebration that marked the culmination of the graduates’ hard work and dedication.
The festivities began the day prior with the much-anticipated graduate parade. Draped in their blue caps and gowns, the soon-to-be graduates proudly marched through the SSIS campus, cheered on by their younger peers, teachers, parents and loved ones. This time-honored tradition served as a prelude to the main graduation ceremony.
The graduation ceremony commenced with the grand entrance of the graduates. As the orchestra played a stirring processional, the members of the Class of 2024 proudly made their way down the aisle. The air was electric with excitement and anticipation as families, friends, and teachers erupted into thunderous applause.
Head of School, Mr. Samer Khouri then delivered a warm and inspiring address, congratulating the graduates on their hard work and impressive accomplishments. In his speech, Mr. Khouri expressed his profound confidence in the Class of 2024 and wished them well as they embarked on the next chapter of their educational journeys.
“It is my hope that we have helped shape young men and women who are the masters of their fates and the captains of their souls to build a better future for the next generation.”
On the university level, Mr. Khouri also shared the remarkable news:
“ As of this point and not all the results have come in yet still, we have received 169 offers from 93 universities from 12 different countries and regions. With a staggering amount of over 3 million US dollars in scholarships.”
62 members of the graduating Class of 2024 walked acrocss the stage to accept their diplomas and become the Twentieth graduating class of SSIS. The ceremony reached its climactic moment as the entire Class of 2024 was formally presented to the Board Chair, Tina Tian, officially welcoming them into the esteemed ranks of SSIS alumni. The event concluded with the traditional joyous tossing of graduation caps, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the Class of 2024.
