Our “Unveiling the Mystery” themed Book Week was a huge success! This week-long celebration was designed to ignite a love for reading and storytelling among our students.
This year, the spotlight is on the captivating mystery genre, offering children a wonderful opportunity to delve into diverse mystery tales, uncover new mystery authors, and gain insights into the art of descriptive writing and the horror genre through the magic of storytelling.
In our primary classrooms, we were delighted to have Mystery Readers who made special appearances to captivate our students with their engaging story sessions. Their presence truly added an element of surprise and intrigue to the week’s activities.
The theater came alive with the presence of the renowned storyteller, Mr. Andy Wright. With his enchanting storytelling skills, he effortlessly brought mystery stories to life, captivating our students and leaving them spellbound. From Kindergarten to Grade 10, students were immersed in a variety of captivating tales that expanded their imaginations.
Both the elementary and secondary libraries hosted interesting activities such as escape room challenges, bookmark making, and the beloved tradition of buddy reading. This special bonding experience paired younger students with older ones, allowing them to share the joy of reading together.
Adding to the excitement, we organized a Book Fair in collaboration with book traders, giving our students the opportunity to expand their personal book collections.
To conclude this magical week, the entire school gathered on Friday to celebrate Character Dress-up Day. The campus came alive with a vibrant parade, as our students wholeheartedly embraced their favorite book characters, turning our school into a captivating world of literary wonders.
We are thrilled by the enthusiasm and engagement our students displayed during Book Week. Their love for books and stories continues to inspire us. Let’s keep the joy of reading alive and celebrate the wonders that books hold!
