St. Gilgen International School welcomes young people from around the world to its Summer Camps 2026, held in the beautiful lakeside village of St. Gilgen in the Salzkammergut region of Austria. Across three two-week sessions in July and August, participants aged 10 to 15 experience a structured, supportive, and engaging programme that combines outdoor activities, language learning, and specialised focused activities. With small camp sizes and a 1:2 staff-to-camper ratio, StGIS places great emphasis on individual care, safety, and creating a positive atmosphere for every child.
The Outdoor Activities & Language Programme forms the foundation of the camps. Students may choose English or German lessons suitable for all levels, paired with a wide selection of outdoor experiences. Campers spend their afternoons hiking, climbing, kayaking, paddle boarding, swimming, biking, and exploring the natural and cultural surroundings, including excursions to Salzburg and notable local landmarks.
Alongside this programme, StGIS offers several focused activity camps designed for students who wish to concentrate on a particular area of interest. The Sailing Camp takes place on Mondsee Lake under the guidance of qualified instructors. The Golf Camp combines professional coaching with cutting-edge technology. The Digital Music Production Camp teaches campers how natural sounds, instruments, and digital tools can be transformed into music through sampling, beat-making, remixing, and sound design. The Horseriding Camp allows campers to train with award-winning young competition riders, ensuring a professional and inspiring learning environment. Additional pathways include a Sustainability Camp and an AI & STEM Camp. Instead of traditional language learning, campers take part in a programme designed for young changemakers that combines creativity, teamwork, and innovation to explore what a sustainable future can look like through hands-on projects, interactive workshops, and creative challenges.
Campers reside in the school’s boarding houses, staying in en-suite double or triple rooms grouped by age and gender. This residential setting offers comfort, structure, and supervision from experienced staff. To support presence and wellbeing, campers do not use their phones during the day, devices are returned to them for a limited time in the evening between 19:00 and 21:30.
The Summer Camps at StGIS offer an enriching and memorable experience in one of Austria’s most beautiful regions. Through adventure-based learning, outdoor challenges that develop life skills, immersive language learning, and a vibrant global community, campers build lifelong friendships with peers from around the world. The boarding environment also provides valuable insight into life at an international boarding school, making the experience both exciting and transformative.
