At BIS Abu Dhabi, learning goes beyond academics. We help students understand global challenges and take action to solve them. Through our partnership with UNICEF and Nord Anglia Education, learners engage with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and children’s rights, exploring two goals each year and joining summits where their voices matter.
Our culture is shaped by the Social Impact Distinction (SID) programme, which embeds equality, diversity, and respect into school life. Students lead projects that create real change, from sustainability initiatives and Uniform Switch Day to applying for grants that fund community projects.
Belonging and student voice are central. Through House Days, Earth Day, World Children’s Day, and the BISAD Diploma, learners live our values of kindness, honesty, and respect. Older students take part in the Duke of Edinburgh Award and IB CAS, combining service with leadership.
From Primary to Secondary, global goals inspire learning. Year 4 designs Sustainable Cities, Year 2 explores Identity, and Secondary students host GRASSROOT FEST to raise awareness for biodiversity.
Our impact reaches beyond Abu Dhabi, through the Nord Anglia Student Summit, Tanzania volunteering, and Pinktober fundraising. These experiences build character and leadership, preparing students to make a difference locally and globally.
This is what it means to belong at BIS Abu Dhabi, Connected Everywhere and empowered to Create your Future.
