Overview
Calgary French & International School (CFIS) is more than a school—it’s a vibrant, globally minded community where students and families from over 30 nationalities come together to create a rich and dynamic learning environment. This strong sense of connection, combined with meaningful family partnerships, helps shape confident, curious, and engaged learners.
What sets CFIS apart is its exceptional multilingual program. Students begin French immersion as early as junior preschool, graduate fully bilingual in French and English, and develop functional fluency in Spanish. This early and immersive approach not only builds language mastery but also strengthens critical thinking, creativity, and cultural understanding—skills essential for the future.
CFIS offers a rigorous and well-rounded academic experience, blending strong academics with the globally recognized International Baccalaureate (IB) continuum, enriched co-curricular opportunities, and personalized learning support. Students benefit from dedicated educators, small learning environments, and a wide range of programs in the arts, athletics, leadership, and global engagement.
As a UNESCO Associated School with international programs like Round Square and Travel Studies, CFIS empowers students to think beyond borders, engage in real-world issues, and develop as compassionate, globally aware citizens. Graduates leave CFIS as confident, multilingual leaders, prepared to succeed in top universities in Canada and around the world.
Guided by its core values; We Care, We Connect, We Strive, and We Grow, CFIS nurtures the whole child and opens a world of possibilities for every student.
