Academics
Adelaide International School (AIS) offers a rich and flexible curriculum designed to meet the needs of both local and international students. The school provides multiple senior pathways, allowing students to choose programs that best suit their goals and interests.
Cambridge International Curriculum – AIS offers the Cambridge IGCSE for Year 10 students, providing a global foundation that develops collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Students can earn 20 SACE credits for each IGCSE subject, accelerating their progress toward the South Australian Certificate of Education. In 2026, AIS expands its offerings with the Cambridge A-Level program, giving Year 11 and 12 students a rigorous academic route recognised by leading universities worldwide.
South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) – AIS delivers both Stage 1 and Stage 2 SACE, combining academic depth with flexibility. Students can study a mix of semester and year-long courses, and may use recognised learning such as music grades, community work, or VET achievements for SACE credits. SACE students graduate confident, capable, and ready to thrive in university, vocational pathways, or the workforce.
Vocational Education and Training (VET) – In partnership with the Adelaide Education Group, AIS offers Certificate II, III, and IV programs. VET courses provide hands-on, practical learning in areas like business, health, and technology, enabling students to gain workplace skills and even use VET results toward their ATAR calculation.
These programs are taught by registered TESOL and subject specialists using content-based and text-based learning approaches aligned with the Australian Curriculum. EAP students can earn up to 40 Stage 1 SACE credits, preparing them to transition confidently into mainstream academic studies.
Together, these programs create an educational journey that connects global standards with local opportunity—helping students at AIS build strong academic foundations, transferable skills, and a genuine love for learning.

Extra-curricular Activities
Extracurricular Life at Adelaide International School
At Adelaide International School (AIS), learning extends well beyond the classroom. The school’s vibrant extracurricular program encourages students to grow socially, emotionally, and physically while strengthening their sense of belonging within the community.
Each student belongs to one of four AIS Houses, which compete throughout the year for the House Shield. Points are earned through sports, art, music, quizzes, and other talents, fostering teamwork, school spirit, and friendly competition.
AIS also promotes wellbeing and social connection through after-school clubs and co-curricular activities. Students can participate in badminton sessions, weekend outdoor activities such as hiking and team games, and student-led clubs that encourage leadership and collaboration.
To deepen global and cultural understanding, AIS organises study tours for international students who wish to improve their English and experience Australian education and culture firsthand. These tours combine personalised English learning with excursions to local schools and attractions, creating memorable cross-cultural experiences.
Through these diverse activities, AIS ensures that every student has the opportunity to discover their strengths, connect with others, and grow as a global citizen.
