Why families choose the American Curriculum?

When it comes to selecting an educational pathway for their children, many families in Bolivia are increasingly turning towards schools that offer the American curriculum. This choice is driven by several compelling factors that resonate with the aspirations parents hold for their children’s academic and personal development.

Global Recognition and Opportunities

One of the primary reasons families opt for the American curriculum is its widespread recognition by universities and employers around the world. This curriculum is known for its emphasis on developing critical thinking skills and creativity, preparing students not just for local but also for international higher education and career opportunities. Parents appreciate that graduating from an accredited U.S. curriculum school can provide their children with a smoother transition to universities in the United States and other countries.

Flexible and Comprehensive Academic Framework

The American curriculum offers a balanced approach to education, which includes a broad range of subjects covering the arts, sciences, and humanities. This holistic educational model appeals to families because it allows students to explore their interests in various fields before committing to a specialization. Furthermore, the curriculum’s flexibility enables students to advance at their own pace, a feature particularly beneficial for those who may excel in certain subjects or require more time in others.

Emphasis on Critical Thinking and Creativity

Unlike more traditional curricula, which may focus heavily on rote learning and memorization, the American system encourages critical thinking, problem-solving, and creative expression. These skills are highly valued in today’s global economy, and parents are keen on choosing a curriculum that prepares children to think independently and innovate.

Development of English Language Skills

As English is the predominant language of the global business and scientific community, proficiency in this language is another significant advantage. American curriculum schools in Bolivia offer an immersive English-speaking environment, which is ideal for developing strong language skills from an early age. This exposure helps students gain fluency and confidence in their abilities to communicate effectively in English, both in academic and professional contexts.

Extracurricular Activities and Personal Development

Schools following the American curriculum often boast a wide range of extracurricular activities that contribute to the development of well-rounded individuals. These programs, which include sports, arts, and clubs, are integral to personal growth and leadership development. They also provide students with opportunities to explore new interests and talents, which is a key consideration for parents looking to foster a well-balanced education for their children.

In conclusion, the decision to choose an American curriculum school in Bolivia is influenced by the curriculum’s global recognition, its flexible and comprehensive educational framework, the focus on critical thinking and creativity, the development of English language skills, and the opportunities for personal growth through extracurricular activities. These factors collectively offer a compelling educational approach that equips students to thrive in a rapidly changing world.

  • Karl and I just wish we have discovered your school much earlier. We would like to reiterate from parents who have sent our daughter to a private school all her life, Elea High has given her the most valuable and enriched environment to study. The first thing Grace has mentioned to us is how all the teachers spoke to her like an adult with respect instead of treating her like a little child. This made her feel she is worthy and made her feel comfortable in engaging. This is something she said she never experienced in her old school! Private schools may have all the fancy facilities and traditional values but what your school offered is what’s important in school life – respect and the right environment!
