PRE-SCHOOL
We prepare our children for their future education. We encourage a strong relationship between the families of our young students and the school while focusing on developmental objectives and the individual needs of our young explorers.
Nursery (from 4 months to 2 years old)
Scientific research is clear that the benefits of excellent Early Years learning are transformative for later learning. An Early Years education does not just prepare children for primary years and beyond, it gives those children a significant advantage for accelerated future learning.
Kindergarten (from 3 to 5 years old)
In our bilingual Kindergarten, experienced and competent educators play a guiding role in the learning process as children gain emerging skills. They support the children’s interests and motivations by planning, creating and preparing situations that foster development through exploration and problem-solving.
PRIMARY (from 6 to 10 years old)
Our Primary School centres its provision on the values of academic and moral excellence while promoting language proficiency in English and competence across the Primary Years curriculum. Children flourish in a vibrant environment that supports personal development and helps to form capable, successful, confident and responsible students.
Curriculum Options: Portuguese or Cambridge International (Grade 1 in Sep’23)
JUNIOR (from 11 to 12 years old)
Junior School students are encouraged to work in groups and communicate in various languages, adopting a collaborative work ethic that promotes digital literacy, divergent thinking and the ability to resolve problems in class and socially with peers. Creativity and analytical thinking play a significant role at this stage, and educators seek to develop positive relationship skills, sports engagement and artistic skills.
Curriculum Options: Portuguese or Cambridge International (Grade 5 in Sep’23)
MIDDLE
At our Middle School students are challenged to work with increasing autonomy as they transition to a context that develops pedagogical rigour. Structured into several topics, subject material encourages a critical approach to research and learning while offering the intellectual and relational challenge necessary for learner development. Adopting a holistic approach to education, Middle Years students access rich experiences outside the classroom environment, with excursions and overseas exchange opportunities.
Curriculum Options: Portuguese or Cambridge International (including IGCSE 1)
SECONDARY
Our Secondary school supports the creation of an exceptional personalised curriculum tailored to their academic interests and an extensive language programme. Throughout this stage, Secondary students develop soft skills that enrich their understanding of their chosen subject areas and make learning meaningful and relevant to their everyday lives. Additionally, the specialist support provided to orient their school career towards higher education helps students to make a conscious choice of the university course they wish to follow.
Curriculum Options: Portuguese Secondary Education or IGCSE (2) and IB Diploma (1 & 2)
