Founded in 1863, we are more than 160 years in the making and, as a Uniting Church school, offer high-quality education and a diverse co-curricular program to primary and secondary school students across four spacious campuses. From 2026, we will welcome girls into Kindergarten and Year 5 in our preparatory schools, Wyvern and Lindfield. In 2028, we welcome girls into Year 7 and Year 11 at our Senior campus in Stanmore. By 2033, the College will be fully co-educational. Our evolution to a co-educational institution highlights our commitment to enriching our learning environment with diverse perspectives and experiences, preparing students to serve in a globally interconnected world.
Newington College spans four Sydney campuses. Our senior campus, catering to students in Years 7–12, and our Wyvern House Preparatory campus, for students in Years K–6, are located in the inner-city suburb of Stanmore. These campuses sit alongside our Early Learning Centre (ELC), which caters for three-to five-year-old students. Our beautiful 200-hectare rural campus, Eungai Creek, is located on NSW’s mid north coast between Sydney and Brisbane and is home to our service-learning immersion curriculum and outdoor education program.

Inside, the Edmund Webb Boarding House is a modern, light and airy building, where boarders are assigned a double room with ensuite for Years 9 & 10 and a single room with ensuite in Years 11 & 12. Boarders also enjoy a large communal living room, dining room, health centre, outside courtyard and gym. A two-hour academic prep session during weekdays is mandatory for all boarders, who are sustained through their study and co-curriculum activities by four main meals a day, supper and snacks to ensure proper nutrition for growing teenagers.
Extra-curricular Activities
Newington’s extensive Co-Curricular program offers diverse opportunities for students to excel beyond the classroom. Our extensive Co-Curricular program uses the same Learning and Teaching framework as our Academic program and provides enormous scope to develop passions and skills outside the classroom. Students are encouraged to be self-directed, inquisitive and reflective learners – whether it’s in the rehearsal room, in a debating competition or on the playing field. The Senior School Co-Curricular program includes everything from rugby, cricket, fencing, snow sports, cricket, football, rowing and cadets to the performing arts, chess, drama, music and performance and many more.
At our preparatory campuses, Lindfield and Wyvern, our students can engage in competitive chess, creative art, debating, public speaking and a variety of sports including swimming, athletics and cricket. With clubs focusing on STEM, robotics, drama, and languages, as well as opportunities in martial arts, hip hop and coding, our preparatory schools foster a vibrant environment where students excel and explore their passions beyond the classroom.
