HIS is the Only Non-Profit, International Accredited (WASC), IB World School in Zhejiang Province. Hangzhou International School was founded in 2002 as an English-Medium International School. The current Chinese President, Xi Jinping, visited HIS to inaugurate the first international school in Hangzhou. Since 2005, HIS has met the highest standards for WASC international accreditation. As an IB World School, we provide a rigorous, high-caliber academic program for all ages of students. While HIS already has a highly reputed International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IB DP) for Grades 11 - 12, we are also authorized with the full IB Continuum of study, which includes delivering the Primary Years Programme (IB PYP) for Grades EY - 5 and the Middle Years Programme (IB MYP) for Grades 6 - 10.

In 2022, Hangzhou International School relocated to a new, purpose-built campus.
