BSI is an IB World School offering the full IB continuum—Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP), and Diploma Programme (DP). Students graduate with both the Panamanian Secondary School Diploma (Science or Business) and the IB Diploma, opening doors to top universities worldwide. Instruction is primarily in English, with a strong bilingual and multilingual approach, including Mandarin, preparing students to thrive in a globalized world.
At Boston School International, academic excellence meets global citizenship. Through personalized support and a student-centered approach, learners grow academically, emotionally, and socially. Our strong IB results, multilingual confidence, and international university pathways reflect our commitment to preparing adaptable, thoughtful leaders for the future.
Learning at BSI extends beyond the classroom. Students benefit from a balanced program that integrates academics, arts, technology, and sports, allowing them to explore interests, build skills, and excel holistically. Our Learning.First™ philosophy places students at the center of the learning process, supported by interactive educational tools, continuous assessment, and meaningful family engagement.
BSI follows an international academic calendar (August–June), with admissions open year-round, and is a proud full member of the Panamanian Association of Internationally-minded Schools (PAIS), upholding the highest standards of international education.
Academics
Boston School International is an authorized school for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Program (PYP) and Middle Years Program (MYP) and Diploma Program (DP). IB World Schools share a common philosophy—a commitment to improving the teaching and learning of a diverse and inclusive community of students by delivering challenging, high-quality programs of international education that share a powerful vision.
IB Early Learning Program (PK)
At Boston School International, we believe that in early childhood, “playing is child’s work,” and playing is essential for brain building. We cultivate curiosity, creativity, and promote learning through play. As an IB World School accredited to offer the Primary Years Program (PYP), we foster independent learning and critical thinking through units of inquiry.
IB Primary Years Program (K-5)
As an IB World School accredited to offer the Primary Years Program (PYP), we cultivate independent learning and critical thinking through inquiry-based units. Our goal is to develop socially responsible individuals capable of embracing challenges and contributing to socio-cultural, ethical, and sustainable progress.
IB Middle Years Program (6-10)
The Middle Years Program aims to develop active learners and internationally minded young people who can empathize with others and pursue lives of purpose and meaning.
The program empowers students to inquire into a wide range of issues and ideas of significance locally, nationally, and globally. The result is young people who are creative, critical, and reflective thinkers. The MYP is a challenging framework that encourages students to make practical connections between their studies and the real world. The MYP is inclusive by design; students of all interests and academic abilities can benefit from their participation.
IB Diploma Program (11-12)
The program aims to develop students who have excellent breadth and depth of knowledge—students who flourish physically, intellectually, emotionally and ethically.
Through the Diploma Program (DP) core, students reflect on the nature of knowledge, complete independent research and undertake a project that involves community service.
