Enrollment

TCIS accepts most new students at the beginning of the school year in August. A more limited January intake may be available when space exists in the appropriate grade and program. Families are encouraged to apply early, particularly for grades that are nearing capacity or when boarding accommodation is required.

The process begins with an inquiry and, when possible, a campus visit or virtual conversation with the Admissions team. Families then submit an online application with the student’s academic records, recommendations, identification documents, and other required information.

Applicants complete age-appropriate admissions assessments, which may include MAP assessments in English reading and mathematics, a writing sample, and WIDA language assessment when additional English-language information is needed. Interviews may also be required, particularly for elementary and boarding applicants.

The Admissions team reviews the complete application to consider academic readiness, English-language needs, available support, grade-level placement, and the student’s potential to participate successfully in the TCIS community. Secondary applicants also receive a review of previous coursework and transferable credits. Admission to Grade 12 is generally limited and considered only in exceptional circumstances.

Families receive an admissions decision after the application and assessment process is complete. Admitted students then complete enrollment, tuition, health, transportation, and, when applicable, boarding documentation. The school provides transition guidance to help students and families prepare for their arrival and become connected to the TCIS community.
