The Cloud: A Home for Upper Primary
In August 2024, we celebrated the opening of “The Cloud”, a stunning new addition to our campus designed specifically for students in Upper Primary. This dynamic and modern learning space represents a significant step forward in how we support our growing community.
The Cloud is equipped with:
- A dedicated indoor area for sport and entertainment, where students enjoy structured physical education alongside opportunities for fun, active play
- A fully equipped STEAM lab, encouraging hands-on learning and creative problem-solving across science, technology, engineering, the arts, and mathematics
- Two age-appropriate playgrounds nestled close to the forest, offering a natural setting that enhances playtime and connection with nature
- Bright, airy classrooms designed with generous natural light to support focus, wellbeing, and a sense of calm
The Cloud supports students academically, socially, and physically, ensuring they have space to move, think, and grow.
A New Era of Sports and Community Spaces
Looking ahead, January 2026 will mark the completion of our brand-new athletic running track and football pitch. These additions will significantly enhance our Physical Education provision and our competitive sports programmes.
Once completed, they will provide:
- More space for PE lessons and fitness activities
- Improved training grounds for our sports teams and school athletes
- An inspiring and functional setting for school tournaments and fixtures
- Additional venues for community events, allowing families and local partners to enjoy these outstanding facilities after school hours and on weekends
At CSB, we believe in the power of sport to teach teamwork, perseverance, and leadership—and our new spaces are designed with the aim to foster all three.
Coming in 2027: The Final Phase of Our Vision
Our campus transformation will reach its pinnacle in the first quarter of 2027, with the completion of our final and most ambitious phase of development. This exciting milestone will introduce a wide range of purpose-built facilities designed to enrich every aspect of school life.
The final phase will include:
- A state-of-the-art gymnasium and multi-purpose sports hall, offering flexible space for indoor sports, assemblies, and school-wide events
- A professional-grade climbing wall, encouraging strength, agility, and confidence through physical challenge
- Two swimming pools: a semi-Olympic pool for swim training and competitions, and a children’s pool for early aquatic development and safety
- A modern fitness gym, supporting physical health, movement education, and lifelong wellness habits
- A large theatre, celebrating the performing arts and providing a platform for school productions, concerts, and community events
- A Creative Arts Hub, featuring dedicated music, drama, and art rooms designed to inspire expression, collaboration, and creative exploration
- A Design and Technology Lab, where students can innovate, problem-solve, and engage in hands-on project work using industry-standard tools and materials
- A spacious, modern library, designed as a calm and inviting environment to encourage reading, research, and quiet study
- A generous cafeteria with panoramic views of the Băneasa Forest, serving as both a dining space and a social hub
These new facilities are more than just buildings—they will form a vibrant, versatile centre for learning, leisure, and community connection. A second home where talents are discovered, passions are nurtured, and students thrive—academically, artistically, and socially.
Designed for Sustainability
Sustainability is a central pillar of our development philosophy. That’s why the latest construction phases of our campus are designed as NZEB (Nearly Zero Energy Buildings), structures built with maximum efficiency and minimal environmental impact. All buildings are Class A for energy efficiency and feature 100% fresh air ventilation systems to support a healthy indoor environment.
Our environmental efforts extend well beyond the buildings themselves:
- Only 20% of our campus is constructed, the remaining 80% is green space, providing room to roam, reflect, and recharge
- We have planted over 1,100 trees, reinforcing our deep connection to the Băneasa Forest and commitment to biodiversity
- Our Oak Building, home to our secondary students, is topped with solar panels, helping power our school sustainably
- In recognition of our environmental work, CSB has proudly earned the status of a Green Flag School, a distinction awarded to schools that place sustainability at the heart of education
