Why families choose a British school in Tohoku?

Choosing the right school for one’s child is a pivotal decision for many families, and those residing in Tohoku have distinct reasons to opt for British schools. The core of these reasons often revolves around the unique educational framework and the holistic development opportunities these institutions offer.

Comprehensive Curriculum

British schools are renowned for their rigorous and broad curriculum, which is one of the primary attractions for families in Tohoku. The British education system, with its balanced focus on arts, sciences, and humanities, prepares students not just academically but also develops their critical thinking and creativity. Parents appreciate this approach as it helps children to become versatile thinkers, equipped to tackle various real-world challenges.

English Proficiency

In a globalized world, proficiency in English is invaluable. British schools in Tohoku offer an immersive English-speaking environment, which is highly appealing to parents who want their children to become fluent in English. The early exposure to this global lingua franca is seen as a stepping stone to international opportunities in higher education and careers later in life.

Cultural Diversity

Another significant factor that draws families to British schools is the exposure to cultural diversity. These schools tend to have a mix of students from different nationalities, providing a rich, multicultural environment that fosters global awareness and sensitivity from a young age. This exposure is considered by parents as crucial in nurturing open-minded and culturally aware individuals.

Extracurricular Excellence

Beyond academics, British schools in Tohoku offer a plethora of extracurricular activities that contribute to the development of various skills in children. From sports to arts and social service clubs, these activities are designed to build leadership skills, teamwork, and a sense of community. Parents value these programs as they provide a well-rounded education, helping children to discover and develop their personal interests and talents.

Discipline and Character Development

The ethos of discipline, respect, and integrity, which is a hallmark of British education, also attracts families. The focus on character education means that children are not only learning how to excel academically but also how to become responsible and ethical adults. This dual focus on academic and moral development is highly valued by parents who seek a comprehensive education that aligns with their own values and expectations.

In summary, the decision for families in Tohoku to choose British schools stems from their desire to provide their children with a robust educational foundation. • Karl and I just wish we have discovered your school much earlier. We would like to reiterate from parents who have sent our daughter to a private school all her life, Elea High has given her the most valuable and enriched environment to study. The first thing Grace has mentioned to us is how all the teachers spoke to her like an adult with respect instead of treating her like a little child. This made her feel she is worthy and made her feel comfortable in engaging. This is something she said she never experienced in her old school! Private schools may have all the fancy facilities and traditional values but what your school offered is what’s important in school life – respect and the right environment!

Our son is living a sober, happy, healthy life, thanks in part to the skills he learned and nurturing he received at NSA, as well as the hard work he has done on his own since returning from NSA. NSA is an amazing school and saved my sons life. It is a place where you can send your son and know he will be well taken care of and loved. From the minute we visited the school to when my son graduated, we were always met with big smiles and hugs. The staff is top notch and have the patience of saints. The location is beautiful and easy to get to from San Jose. I would highly recommend NSA.
