Como o Programa de Diploma do IB (IBDP) é estruturado?
O Programa de Diploma do Bacharelado Internacional (IBDP) é um programa rigoroso de dois anos, com os alunos fazendo exames finais no final dos dois anos, em maio.
O IBDP oferece 6 grupos de disciplinas, e os alunos escolhem um curso de cada um deles. Há também a opção de cursar um curso adicional de Ciências, Indivíduos e Sociedades ou Línguas em vez de um curso de Artes. O IBDP é dividido em níveis, sendo que cada aluno deve cursar pelo menos 3 (mas não mais que 4) disciplinas no Nível Superior (HL) e as demais no Nível Padrão (SL). Os cursos de HL e SL diferem em escopo, mas menos disciplinas são avaliadas de acordo com os mesmos critérios de classificação, e espera-se que os alunos demonstrem um maior conjunto de conhecimentos, compreensão e habilidades em um nível superior.
Além dos grupos de disciplinas, o IBDP possui três elementos básicos obrigatórios: Teoria do Conhecimento (TOK), Dissertação (EE) e Criatividade, Ação e Serviço (CAS). A Teoria do Conhecimento solicita aos alunos que reflitam sobre a natureza do conhecimento e sobre como sabemos o que afirmamos saber. Ela é avaliada por meio de uma apresentação oral e uma dissertação de 1.600 palavras. A Dissertação é um estudo independente que culmina em um artigo de 4.000 palavras. Por fim, a CAS exige que os alunos se envolvam em atividades criativas, físicas e de caridade/voluntariado.
