BBIS IS EEN TOONAANGEVENDE INTERNATIONALE DAG- EN INTERNAATSCHOOL Welkom bij BBIS Berlin Brandenburg International School, een plek waar leerlingen de kans krijgen hun unieke potentieel te bereiken en te floreren op het wereldtoneel.
Hoewel Engels de voertaal is, is BBIS een echte internationale school.
Onze studenten komen uit gezinnen van over de hele wereld en delen onze waarden van menselijkheid, tolerantie en empathie. Samen bouwen we aan een zorgzame, internationaal georiënteerde gemeenschap van studenten, docenten en alumni – mensen die echt de potentie hebben om een positieve stempel op onze wereld te drukken.
Jaarlijks verwelkomen we ongeveer 820 dagleerlingen en ongeveer 80 internaatleerlingen, van 3 tot 19 jaar. Deze leerlingen besteden hun dagen aan het ontwikkelen van onschatbare, levenslange vaardigheden zoals kritisch denken, talen en interculturele competenties in onze voorschoolse, basisschool- en middelbare schoolopleidingen.
- Vanaf de leeftijd van 3 tot 6 jaar sluiten kinderen zich aan bij onze gemeenschap voor vroegschoolse educatie en leren ze binnen het kader van het IB Primary Years-programma
- Van 6 tot en met 11 jaar sluiten leerlingen zich aan bij de groepen 1 tot en met 5 om het IB Primary Years-programma te volgen
- Van 11 tot 19 jaar sluiten leerlingen zich aan bij onze middelbare school om het IB Middle Years Programme en het IB Diploma Programme te volgen
In al deze programma's moedigen we studenten aan om moedig te zijn en nieuwe kansen te verkennen. Zo stimuleren we een pioniersgeest die hen helpt succesvol te zijn, wat de toekomst ook brengt.
Ons hoofddoel bij BBIS is om studenten te helpen gelukkige, evenwichtige mensen te worden.
Onze klassen zijn klein – meestal met minder dan 20 leerlingen – zodat iedereen individuele aandacht en ondersteuning krijgt. Ook buiten de klas vinden we samenwerking tussen personeel, leerlingen, ouders en de gemeenschap erg belangrijk.
Opgroeien is niet gemakkelijk, maar we begrijpen de uitdagingen en veranderingen die zich voordoen. KAMERS
Onze internaatsleerlingen wonen in zeer comfortabele tweepersoonskamers, elk met een eigen badkamer. Slaapkamers worden toegewezen op basis van geslacht, klas en thuistaal; er zijn af en toe eenpersoonskamers beschikbaar voor leerlingen in klas 12.
To help your child feel right at home, we encourage them to bring their favourite personal items – such as lamps, cushions, or rugs – to decorate their rooms. It’s their space, after all.

A common room, which is a popular space for watching films and simply hanging out

COMMUNITY KITCHENS
On every level of the boarding house, students are often found in our community kitchens. These welcoming spaces are a place where students can prepare their own snacks and drinks outside of formal mealtimes.
Each community kitchen also includes laundry facilities and student fridges.
CAFETERIA
Boarding students enjoy their meals together in our school cafeteria, with daily breakfast, lunch and dinner provided, as well as brunch on weekends. The cafeteria is a wonderful space to sit together with friends and the mentor team to share a meal.

OUTSTANDING SPORTING FACILITIES
From track and field to tennis, badminton to basketball, our students can pursue their favourite sports at BBIS. Our sports facilities include:
A full-size artificial-turf field – Our sports field features a six-lane running track, a sand court for beach volleyball, basketball courts, plus facilities for high and long jump, discus and shot put. With floodlights and bleachers that can hold 820 spectators, we proudly host larger tournaments with other schools, too.
The BBIS Sports Hall – With three separate gymnasiums, audience seating and a fitness room, our multipurpose sports hall can be combined into one large space for basketball, volleyball, handball, indoor soccer and tennis. There’s a climbing wall, rings, climbing ropes, wall bars and other professional-quality sports equipment, too. Beyond sport and fitness, the hall can also be used as an auditorium, theatre and concert hall.
Playgrounds – There are plenty of playgrounds and recreational areas around the campus, giving students healthy, active options during their breaks from the classroom.
