Pourquoi choisir une école du monde de l’IB en Asie ?
L’organisation de l’IB a été fondée à l’origine en réponse au manque de flexibilité des différents systèmes scolaires à travers le monde. Aujourd’hui, le système éducatif de l’IB est reconnu dans plus de 100 pays à travers le monde, et bon nombre des grandes universités britanniques et nord-américaines sont très positives à l’égard des futurs étudiants titulaires d’un diplôme de l’IB. Dans un article paru dans The Telegraph, John Claugthon, maître en chef à la retraite de la King Edward’s School, met en lumière certaines des raisons pour lesquelles les écoles du monde entier choisissent de proposer le Programme du diplôme de l’IB. Il souligne l’étendue du programme comme l’une des principales motivations : « Les écoles de l’IB croient que l’ancienne dispensation du monde étroit de la spécialisation ne fera plus l’affaire. » De nombreuses universités dans le monde suivent cette ligne de pensée, et un nombre croissant d’universités ils révisent leurs critères d’admission pour attirer davantage de diplômés de l’IB. Entre autres exemples, Claugthon mentionne le King’s College de Londres et souligne le fait que 20 % des nouveaux étudiants de premier cycle de l’université sont des étudiants de l’IB. Si vous recherchez une éducation qui vous stimule et vous met au défi, mais qui demande également un travail acharné, alors l’IB est l’endroit idéal pour vous.
De sa géographie variée et de ses phénomènes naturels à couper le souffle à ses habitants sympathiques et leurs cultures extraordinaires, l’Asie se définit peut-être mieux par un seul mot : diversité. Il n’est pas surprenant que les économies tigres de la Chine, de Hong Kong, de Singapour, de la Malaisie et de la Corée du Sud attirent les étudiants aventureux désireux d’utiliser l’internat comme tremplin vers une carrière commerciale internationale. Étudier une langue étrangère dans un internat en Asie donne aux étudiants la pratique et la confiance dont ils ont besoin pour devenir de bons linguistes.
