개요
KIS International School is a private, proprietary, non-profit, nonsectarian school. KIS offers a fully WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges)-accredited PK-12. As a high-performing college preparatory school, we deliver a comprehensive education in humanities, world languages, engineering, arts, math, and science using both traditional and innovative teaching practices, with an emphasis on providing internationally minded applied learning opportunities.KIS opened its doors in 2000 with a handful of students in the Gangnam neighborhood of southern Seoul. A significant development in the life of our school was the opening of our new campus in the Pangyo/Bundang area in August 2006. KIS enrollment has grown each year since its inception. The KIS community celebrated our 1000th graduate in 2018, and we are extremely proud of our innovative, extremely accomplished, and philanthropically motivated alumni who are studying at prestigious universities and working around the world. Our Seoul and Pangyo campuses are both richly resourced to provide state of the art science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) transdisciplinary learning opportunities. KIS also offers winter and summer programs that emphasize experiential learning.
학술
KIS는 포괄적인 대학 진학 준비 교육과정을 제공합니다. AP 프로그램은 2005-2006년에 4개 과목으로 시작하여 현재 25개 과목으로 확대되었습니다. 웹 디자인, 영상 제작, 연극, 콘서트 합창, 심리학, 사회학, 창작, 그리고 현대 세계 문제 등 다양한 선택 과목들을 통해 교육과정 전반에 걸쳐 다양성을 경험할 수 있는 기회를 제공합니다. KIS 초등 교육과정(PK-5)은 아이들이 초등학교 수준은 물론 평생 학습에 필요한 기술과 태도를 함양하도록 돕습니다. 학업 외에도 예술, 학생 활동, 그리고 체육 활동을 통해 문제 해결 능력, 의사 결정 능력, 비판적 사고 능력을 함양하고, 국제적인 감각을 갖춘 응용 학습 기회를 제공하는 데 중점을 두고 있습니다. KIS는 설립 원칙에 따라 응용 학습을 통해 오늘날의 학생들이 미래의 세계적 도전에 대비할 수 있도록 지원합니다. KIS는 학생들이 도전적인 학업 과정, 다양한 교과 외 활동, 교외 활동, 그리고 타인을 이끌고 봉사하는 활동을 통해 자신의 재능과 강점을 발견하는 곳입니다. 이러한 경험은 비판적 사고, 창의력, 의사소통, 그리고 협업 능력을 함양하는 데 도움이 됩니다. 이러한 능력은 21세기 교육의 핵심입니다.
