Resumen

OWIS Tsukuba combines globally recognized curricula with cutting-edge teaching practices to create a transformative learning journey from Early Childhood through Grade 12. Anchored by the International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme, our students gain the critical thinking, problem-solving, and real-world application skills they need to thrive in the future.

Innovation in Academics
Our certified and experienced teachers deliver the internationally recognized IB curriculum, and are supported by best practices from the Global Schools Group. With personalized pathways, strong English support, and access to modern STEM and technology facilities, students are equipped with the skills and mindset to thrive in any future.

Nurturing School Environment
We foster a culture of kindness, inclusivity, and respect where every child feels safe and supported. Through personalized education, strong parent-teacher communication, and dedicated attention to social-emotional growth, we empower students to build confidence and develop compassion alongside academic achievement.

Leadership & Holistic Growth
Beyond academics, students grow through after-school programmes, house systems, and community projects that build resilience, teamwork, and leadership. They learn to make responsible decisions, take creative risks, and contribute meaningfully to society – skills that prepare them for life far beyond the classroom.

Connectivity & Global Network
As part of the Global Schools Group, our students connect with peers across 11 countries and 70+ nationalities. From student exchange trips and inter-campus cultural projects, to pathways into top universities worldwide, our students benefit from a network that opens doors and broadens horizons.

Programa

Learning with us goes far beyond memorization. Our curriculum is designed to spark curiosity, nurture creativity, and prepare students for success in a globalized world. Supported by research-based learning methods and GSG best practices, we blend academic rigour with holistic growth to inspire a lifelong love of learning.
Inquiry-Based & Student-Centred
We believe children learn best when they are encouraged to ask questions, explore, and discover. Our inquiry-based framework allows students to engage deeply with ideas through real-world and role-play scenarios. By taking ownership of their learning, students build independence, problem-solving skills, and critical thinking abilities that prepare them for future challenges.
Strong Literacy Foundation
Language is the gateway to all learning at OWIS Tsukuba, and we prioritize literacy through research-backed practices such as:
– Genre-based literacy units
– The Writing Process Methodology
– Reader’s and Writer’s Workshop approaches
– Guided Reading and Literature Circles
-Dedicated quiet reading time
These methods help students become confident, articulate communicators and passionate readers.
Real-World Application Of Numeracy
Mathematics is taught as more than numbers on a page. Students apply numeracy skills in authentic contexts—whether through design projects, event planning, analysing data, or cooking activities—so they understand the value of what they are learning and how it connects to everyday life.
Extended Science & STEM Programme
Science is brought to life through a STEM-rich curriculum that encourages experimentation and discovery. Students learn the scientific method, work with design and innovation projects, and build essential skills in planning, recording, analysing, and evaluating. Our STEM lab and specialist classes help students see themselves as scientists, innovators, and problem-solvers.
Integración de tecnología
From Grade 1, students begin their digital journey with iPads, progressing to MacBooks in Grade 5 and beyond. Technology is not just a tool but an enabler of learning. We emphasize authentic applications, from research projects to digital collaboration, while also teaching digital citizenship skills that prepare students to use technology responsibly.
Personalized & Holistic
With optimal class sizes (18 students or fewer per teacher), every child receives individualized support. Lessons are adapted to suit each learner’s pace and style, building confidence and ensuring academic progress. Beyond academics, students develop values, leadership skills, and personal passions through extensive after-school programmes, character development, and community engagement.
✨ At OWIS Tsukuba, your child’s education is more than preparation for exams, it’s preparation for life.
