St. John’s is a wonderfully unique educational institution which combines the values of companionship, integrity and respect with the rigours of a 21st century international education. We celebrate diversity and have more than 60 nationalities and 39 languages represented at the school. We seek to inspire, challenge and prepare students within the framework of a nurturing, caring ‘family’ environment.
For more than 50 years, St. John’s has been serving the expatriate and local communities of the greater Brussels area. We are proud of the impact that we have had on generations of students. The school was founded in 1964 and throughout the years has built its reputation for excellence on a foundation of exceptional academic programs as well as athletics and the visual and performing arts.
Co-curricular programs are a vital part of the St. John’s educational experience. Our arts and athletics activities are consistently regarded among the finest in Europe. All St. John’s students have the opportunity to develop their creative abilities in the art studio as well as in our superb Performing Arts Center, which includes a 400-seat theatre and reception area, dance studio, choir, orchestra, music and practice rooms. For the budding athletes, the St. John’s Lions sports teams involve students from 6th grade in more than 12 sports, with the high school teams consistently well-placed in the International School Sports Tournament (ISSTs) at the end of each season. There are further opportunities for students in Model United Nations (MUN), Model NATO, the International Awards program, maths and science competitions, economics programs, clubs, field trips and so much more. In this way, our students learn to engage, grow, help and serve others.
We are known for our very welcoming and engaged community which makes integration into St. John’s as a new family very smooth and easy. Here are some of the comments we recently received from St. John’s parents:
“St. John’s school staff are people who care about not only the school and the community but for each individual child. You are not just a number at this school – you are special.”
“The St. John’s experience is something every child should be offered. For us, it has been a dream come true.”
It would be our pleasure to welcome you to our school!

imply saying that St. John’s is much more than a school, is an understatement. St. John’s develops each and every individual student in to a one-of-a-kind. Barnaba/Italy Throughout my time here I have had a sense of the unconditional care coming from so many members of the community and it’s always something to marvel at. Evan/Netherlands-U.S. The St. John’s environment has allowed me to grow as a person and absorb knowledge from every perspective and side thrown at me- a wonderful feeling. The education at St. John’s is more personalized as it is a small school.
Our family has been a part of the St. John's community for the past four years. We knew coming in that our children would receive a quality education at the school, what we were not expecting was for the school community to become our extended family. Our children are making friends from many different countries, cultures, and religions and are able to view the world through a wider lens than if we had not moved abroad. We are grateful for this opportunity and, no matter where our lives take us in the future, St. John's will always have a piece of our hearts.
We have been a part of the St. John's community for four years. The personal attention our children get from their teachers and advisors has helped improved their educational experience. The whole community aspect of St. John's is what makes this such an invaluable opportunity for our family. We are excited to be here!
St. John's is an excellent school with an amazingly welcoming and diverse community. Lots of opportunities for parents to get involved. They have a parent-run welcome committee which made for the easiest transition of any school we have been in. The teachers are very caring and committed to helping each individual child.
