Description

Seoul International School is K – 12 school with three levels, Elementary (K-5), Middle (6-8), and High School (9-12). It is a highly academic institution whose purpose is to provide students with a highly challenging, rigorous and engaging American curriculum. In 1973, when Seoul International School (SIS) opened its doors, it became the first foreign school to be fully recognized by the ROK Ministry of Education with a license. Five years later, in 1978, the first high school graduation ceremonies took place. The Western Association of School and Colleges (WASC) based in California accredited Seoul International School in 1979, the initial 6th year since opening, and our school has subsequently achieved full accreditation every six years from that point onward.

Seoul International School has an international reputation for producing outstanding graduates who go on to attend some of the most prestigious colleges and universities in North America. SIS offers 19 advanced placement (AP) courses designed to simulate college-level academic rigor in a high school context. It stands as an educational institution of unparalleled quality offering a distinguished academic program, outstanding fine arts and extra-curricular opportunities for students.

The campus, conveniently located on the southeastern border of Seoul in the direction of Seongnam City, is about twenty-five minutes south of Lotte World, the Jamsil subway station and Olympic Park. Seoul International School continues to grow and expand to provide excellent educational opportunities for Seoul’s expatriate community.
