Founded in 1948, the International School of Prague is the oldest and most respected independent school in the Czech Republic. As an international school, we draw on the best practices of educational systems throughout the world. A significant number of our 800 students (ages three through 18, and from 60 different countries) move countries again (or return to their home country) before graduating; these students are extremely well prepared to continue at other international schools or in any national-curriculum school. Students who continue at ISP through graduation find themselves well placed to attend the finest Universities throughout the world, including the UK, North America, mainland Europe, and elsewhere. ISP is a not-for-profit educational institution, classified as an s.r.o. by the Czech tax authorities. As an s.r.o., the School has one shareholder – The International School of Prague Foundation, which is a US 501(c)3 (an American not-for-profit). ISP pays no dividends, and any surpluses are re-invested in the school every year. The annual financial statements of ISP are audited by PwC, and are publicly available. ISP is governed by an all-volunteer Board of Trustees, who hire the Director. The school is accredited by the Council of International Schools and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges and offers the International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma program to students in grades 11 and 12. ISP is also authorized by the Czech Ministry of Education to educate foreign nationals and Czech citizens. Please visit this page to learn more about ISP’s latest accreditation report. Our mission is to inspire students to live healthy, fullfilling and purposeful lives and prepare them with the skills and values to adapt and contribute responsibly to our changing world. ISP has a positive and supportive atmosphere, high standards, outstanding professional staff and an active and involved parent association. Our newly enhanced, purpose-built campus on 6.6 hectares (16.3 acres) in the Sarka Valley area of Prague 6 provides a sunny and spacious facility that is the best in the region.
