Fay School was founded in 1866 and our 66-acre campus is located in Southborough, MA, just 25 miles from Boston. Our community includes 475 students in kindergarten through grade nine. Of those are 150 students in grades 7-9 who are boarders that come from across the United States and over 25 countries. We are proud of our authentically diverse and multicultural community.
Fay is recognized around the world for its superior educational program, and our graduates are accepted to top secondary schools, including Phillips Exeter Academy, Phillips Academy Andover, Deerfield Academy, and Groton School. In addition to the core courses of mathematics, science, English, and history, students take art, music, and world languages. A highlight of our program is our creativity and design curriculum, where students engage in real-world design projects in partnership with companies like Converse, Bose, and Barnes and Noble.
As the first junior boarding school in the United States, we are experts in middle school boarding, and our boarding students take part in a program that is specially designed for the needs and interests of adolescents. Our boarding community is a close-knit, caring group of students, faculty, and staff who live, work, and play together. Our students live in homelike dorms, and our dorm parents are always on hand to provide supervision and care. Nights and weekends are structured so that there is time for study, play, and exploring our beautiful New England surroundings.
For almost 40 years, Fay has offered immersive English language programs to international students in grades 7-8 who are seeking to become proficient/fluent English speakers. Our English Language Program (ELP) is designed for strong, well-prepared students who are just beginning their study of English or who are already proficient in English and are working toward fluency.
CurriculumStudents at Fay participate in a challenging curriculum that includes math, science, public speaking, and technology. International students can enroll in our English Language Program, with courses for beginners and advanced speakers.

We feel deeply fortunate to be a part of the Fay community and have the greatest respect and admiration for the exceptional faculty and staff who have taught and nurtured our three sons, Joseph, Kevin, and Owen. Our two oldest sons are now thriving at secondary school, and we are confident that Fay provided the necessary foundation for success.
Fay graduates stand out in our community. They are skilled mathematicians, writers, musicians, athletes, scientists, and artists—and they're also intellectually curious and passionate about their interests.
I loved going to school with students from around the world. I made friends with kids from Europe, Asia, Africa, and South America. It was exciting learning about what makes us different, as well as what we have in common.
My Fay experience played a very important role in my life and influenced who I am today. I learned so much more than math and English at Fay – I learned how to be honorable, respectful, and responsible. Fay opened the doors to the world for me and allowed me to become whoever I wanted.
