Delia School of Canada is a private International School in Hong Kong that offers Pre-Grade 1 to Grade 12. Delia School of Canada implements the Ontario, Canada Ministry of Education curriculum for students in Pre-Grade 1 through Grade 12. We have small class sizes and an extensive extracurricular club program. Delia School of Canada has over 1,400 students from more than 48 different nationalities. We are located on the Eastern side of Hong Kong Island in Taikoo Shing. The mode of instruction is English for all subjects except our International Language program classes. We provide students with the learning environment needed to develop their intellectual, physical and social responsibilities in a welcoming multicultural environment.
Learning continues in our extracurricular program, after school academic programs, and Experiential Learning Week. DSC offers extensive Extracurricular options for all students with other 50 options to choose from students are learning to be the leaders of tomorrow. Supervised by Delia School of Canada teaching staff, the extracurricular program offers students the opportunity to learn new skills, make new friends, and develop social skills as they participate in clubs and sports activities.
Experiential Learning Week (ELW) is designed to give DSC Middle School students an opportunity to extend their learning beyond the walls of the classroom. Various programs will be offered each year based on the ELW themes. Students will have the opportunity to select a program based on personal interest. By participating in these learning experiences, student will enhance 21st century learning competencies while developing independence, leadership, organization, collaboration, responsibility, empathy, problem solving skills and Global Awareness.
DSC is committed to the educational philosophies of collaboration, creation, and innovation. As an organization, we strive to maintain a learning environment that ensures students are equipped with the skills that will allow them to succeed in the future. This learning environment is enriched with learning technologies, for example a 1-to-1 iPad program, 1-to-1 laptop program, collaborative and digital tools such as eLibraries, online learning tools, and Google Apps for Education. To ensure these tools are used effectively, DSC employs an IT staff of 10, 2 full time technology coaches, and organizes ICT training for staff. This ensures that training is in place to support the use of the technology tools to enhance the delivery of curriculum and student learning.
Our Elementary program develops all areas of the student by focusing on four core academic areas, English, Mathematics, Science and Technology, and Social Studies. In addition to Health and Physical Education, The Arts – drama and dance, visual arts, and music, and International Language – French, Japanese and Putonghua.
English as a Second Language Program is also available for those students whose first language is not English. The English as a Second Language Program offers Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced classes. DSC also offers After School English and Math programs for those students looking to improve their English and Math.
The High School program begins at Grade 9 and leads to the Ontario Secondary School Diploma. Graduates of our High School are accepted to Universities throughout the world. In 2016 DSC graduates were accepted to over ten different Universities in both Canada and the United States, nine Universities in the United Kingdom and four Universities in Hong Kong just to name a few. DSC graduates from 2016 have received Scholarships to Universities in Canada, Hong Kong, United Kingdom and the USA.We currently have past graduates studying in more than 75 universities.
