The International Academy and Boarding School of Denmark is the international department of Vedersø Idrætsefterskole and is the only 100% English-speaking efterskole in Denmark. Here students aged 14-17 can combine an international Cambridge IGCSE education with the unique experience of attending a Danish efterskole with its proven qualities within educational and personal development.

Academics
At The International – Academy and Boarding School of Denmark, both Danish and international students work towards understanding life in a global context.

Study Trips
With international partner schools throughout the World, we are proud to be able to offer some of the most interesting and unique study trips available. Each year we have a 2-week World Trip going to for instance a European destination, USA/Hawaii or Australia to visit and stay with our partner schools and experience these beautiful places.

At the beginning of the school year, the whole school goes to a destination in Europe to focus on team building, nature, culture, history and society. It’s a great way to kick off the school year and to build friendships – something we value very much.

We also go on numerous excursions in Denmark and stay a few nights away from the school in both the beginning and the end of the school year when the Danish summer is beautiful and warm with long days and spectacular sunsets – we live right by the west coast of Denmark with beautiful beaches in our backyard which we like to take advantage of as much as possible.

Profile Subjects and Electives
We are proud to be able to offer a wide range of electives within everything from sports to music to crea to languages etc. and we pride ourselves in being open for everyone who has an interest in these electives regardless of their starting level.
Our Profile Subjects include Football, Dance and Badminton which we teach at the highest level with some of the best coaches in Denmark.

The sports electives, in general, are strengthened by the cooperation with Vedersø Idrætsefterskole which is one the leading sports schools in Denmark. We are therefore able to offer unique facilities with two sports halls a huge tumbling centre, a spinning studio, fitness facilities and three football pitches that few other international schools are able to match.

We dare say that we are the unrivalled number one in Denmark in this field and the facilities are available for everyone in their free time, but we are so much more than sports and there is room for everyone.
