The British School of Bucharest is an established, well-resourced, British international independent school located on a spacious campus in the leafy suburb of Pipera, to the north of Bucharest. The School provides a comprehensive British international education based on the National Curriculum from EYFS, through Key Stage 3 and IGCSE and A-level at Key Stages 4 and 5. The curriculum is taught by fully qualified and experienced native English-speaking teachers.

BSB is one of the leading British international schools in Romania and Europe. Opened in 2000, it is located in a unique setting and has a culture that embraces all in a positive, caring and warm environment, attracting around 750 students from 65 nations around the world. The British School of Bucharest is committed to developing confident, motivated, self-disciplined learners who can realise their full potential and make a responsible contribution to the world.

The core aim of the School is to provide the international student body with the educational, social and problem-solving skills required for the unanticipated challenges of tomorrow’s world. A very good pupil-to-teacher ratio and small class sizes, as well as a wide choice of 21 subjects at both IGCSE and AS and A-level, ensure a personalised and highly supportive learning environment. From forest school opportunities to robotics, cooking to engineering, BSB offers a curriculum that caters for the needs, interests and talents of students within and beyond academics. This is supported by trained and qualified staff in our Special Education Needs (SEN) and English as an Additional Language (EAL) departments, as well as More Able and Talented (MAT) programmes, thus providing support for the best educational outcomes for all students. In Years 12 and 13, programmes such as the EPQ, LAMDA, IELTS and CSLA run alongside the curriculum.

BSB believes in the importance of educating the person as a whole, which remains central to its mission and ethos. This is reflected in the diverse range of co-curricular options, as well as opportunities for music, sport, performing and visual arts, as well as leadership, public speaking and entrepreneurial skills for life. At BSB, the teachers are passionate about providing every learner with the encouragement and support to develop their academic abilities, wide-ranging interests and sense of personal values.
