Busan Foreign School is een internationale school met een Amerikaanse onderwijsfilosofie en curriculum. Onze missie is om elke leerling te inspireren door onderwijs te bieden dat hun sociale, intellectuele, emotionele en fysieke groei stimuleert. Onze leerlingen worden voorbereid om als verantwoordelijke burgers in een snel veranderende wereld aan topuniversiteiten wereldwijd te studeren. Onze voortdurende inzet voor intercultureel begrip en een sterke samenwerking tussen leerlingen, ouders\/verzorgers, leerkrachten en de gemeenschap stellen ons in staat dit te bereiken in een zorgzame en ondersteunende omgeving. Busan Foreign School is sinds 1998 volledig WASC-geaccrediteerd (PreK-12e klas).<\/p>\n
Busan Foreign School opende haar deuren in oktober 1996. We geven momenteel les aan meer dan 250 leerlingen uit 25 verschillende landen. Het curriculum heeft zich ontwikkeld tot een zeer streng, op Amerikaanse normen gebaseerd programma dat leerlingen een breed scala aan cursussen en activiteiten biedt. Busan Foreign School biedt aanvullende ondersteuningsdiensten om alle leerstijlen van leerlingen optimaal te bedienen. Meer dan 95% van het onderwijzend personeel bestaat uit in de VS of Canada gecertificeerde docenten, en al het personeel en de beheerders zijn getraind in de meest recente onderzoeken naar beste onderwijspraktijken. Het Common Core-curriculum en andere op de VS gebaseerde nationale normen vormen de leidraad voor alle lessen. Medewerkers zijn verplicht hun vaardigheden professioneel te ontwikkelen. Op het voortgezet onderwijs passen ze hun training toe in het geven van strenge Advanced Placement-cursussen in wiskunde, natuurwetenschappen, Engels, geesteswetenschappen, talen en kunst. Busan Foreign School werd in 2016 toegelaten tot het AP Capstone Program en werd daarmee de derde school in Korea die dit diploma beheert. Op het basisonderwijs hebben we het hoog aangeschreven en gerespecteerde Singapore Math-curriculum ge\u00efmplementeerd. Schoolbreed zijn we geabonneerd op het Readers'-programma. en het Writers\u2019 Workshop-model om de Engelse lees- en schrijfvaardigheid te verbeteren.<\/p>\n
Busan Foreign School streeft ernaar een evenwichtig programma te bieden met academische, sportieve en artistieke aspecten. Wij geloven dat zowel het academische als het niet-academische leven even belangrijk zijn en bijdragen aan de vorming van onze leerlingen tot modelburgers.<\/p>\n
Met een nieuw gebouw en terrein, in het najaar van 2013 geopend \u2013 inclusief een STEAM-toren (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) \u2013 zet de Busan Foreign School zich in om haar sterke traditie voort te zetten en een stimulerende, maar tegelijkertijd intensieve academische ervaring te bieden aan alle leerlingen. BFS offers a large variety of after school clubs, for the most part free of charge. They usually take place right after school and a late school bus is available. Activities range from academics (match, chess, robotics, \u2026), arts (ensemble, choir, visual arts, \u2026), and sports (soccer, basketball, cross-country, volleyball, track, \u2026). The activities change each term. Activities are run mostly by our own teaching staff. We partner with local outside trusted academies in order to expand our offering (professional soccer, fencing,
