Acorn is opgericht in 1999 en biedt een stimulerend studieprogramma met twee curricula dat elk kind betrekt bij studie, onderzoek en ontdekking. Met meer dan 350 studenten is de school een centrum van uitmuntendheid erkend door:
\n– Het Italiaanse ministerie van Onderwijs als een buitenlandse school in Itali\u00eb
– De Cambridge University voor examenvoorbereiding
– International Baccalaureate als een kandidaat-school
\nAls onderdeel van Ingenium Education is de school sinds 2023 een speciale partner van OUP Oxford University voor professionele ontwikkeling van docenten, internationaal curriculum, examenvoorbereiding en online leren.
We inspireren onze studenten om kritische, creatieve, innovatieve en ondernemende probleemoplossers en teamwerkers te zijn die communicatief vaardig en geletterd zijn in meerdere talen. We dagen onze leerlingen uit om te streven naar hun individuele potentieel en uitmuntendheid, het bereiken van de “kennis, waarden, vaardigheden en begrip die ze nodig zullen hebben gedurende hun hele leven en om deze met vertrouwen toe te passen” (UNESCO, 1995).
\nWe streven naar uitmuntendheid door ons te richten op het voeden van de persoonlijke ontwikkeling van toegewijde, empathische, ruimdenkende en verantwoordelijke wereldburgers.
Acorn gelooft dat elk kind recht heeft op het best mogelijke onderwijs. Wij streven ernaar om zowel intellect en karakter te ontwikkelen binnen een stimulerende en uitdagende duale curriculum, het voeden van de ontwikkeling van gewetensvolle en verantwoordelijke wereldburgers, maar ook een leven lang leren.
\nRespect voor elkaar en voor de wereld waarin we leven zijn centrale waarden op Acorn International School. We onderwijzen en vieren culturele diversiteit en individuele verschillen. Door middel van ons project-based curriculum bestuderen we aspecten van het leven en geografische kenmerken binnen andere culturen dan de onze. Door geld in te zamelen, worden de studenten aangemoedigd om een bedreigd dier te adopteren en te doneren aan goede doelen die scholen en kinderen in ontwikkelingslanden ondersteunen.
\nAcorn is gevestigd op de Vejo Park Campus in het noorden van Rome. Onze campus biedt een evenwichtige omgeving tussen klaslokalen en laboratoria en zinvolle buitenervaringen.
