Dulwich College Suzhou was the third to join the Dulwich College International (DCI) family of schools, opening its doors in 2007. The College is made up of approximately 800 students from age 2 to age 18, with over 30 different nationalities represented in our diverse student body. Dulwich College Suzhou links to Dulwich College, founded in 1619, are strong and we collaborate closely with the other schools in the network to encourage an international outlook and create an extended community where academic ability is fostered, creativity is valued, and diversity is celebrated.

Dulwich College Suzhou is an international school delivering a holistic, experiential education that blends traditional British education with innovation and creativity. It serves students from Nursery through Year 13 across three phases: DUCKS (Nursery to Year 2, ages 2–7), Junior School (Years 3–6, ages 7–11), and Senior School (Years 7–13, ages 11–18). Our College is accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS), the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), and NCCT; it holds Cambridge International Examination (CAIE) and EDEXCEL accreditation for the IGCSE programme and International Baccalaureate World School status for the IB Diploma Programme. Inspected by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) in October 2016, the College was awarded the highest grade of “excellent” across all aspects, confirming it meets all Standards for British Schools Overseas. Additionally, it is certified to offer SATs, is a member of the Boarding Schools Association, and our Beijing and Shanghai campuses serve as audition centres for Berklee College.

At Dulwich College Suzhou International School, the co-curricular activity (CCA) programme covers all of the activities that take place outside of the taught curriculum. We consider this to be an integral part of the students’ journey through their schooling, as it affords an opportunity for students to experience and deepen their interests and abilities in a wide range of areas.

Dulwich College Suzhou’s campus embodies its learning philosophy, boasting an exceptional educational environment with top-tier private school facilities crafted to foster students’ intellectual, physical, social and emotional development. It has spacious, tech-equipped modern classrooms and a wealth of learning facilities including age-appropriate libraries and media centres, 700- and 360-seat theatres, two black box theatres, two dance studios, fully equipped science laboratories, a competition-ready aquatics centre, a 1000m² indoor gym, music rooms, and art & design technology workshops. The campus also features diverse sports and outdoor facilities to boost students’ physical development and an active lifestyle, such as a top-of-the-range playground, 50,000 square metres of sports fields (including Suzhou’s best all-grass rugby field), games pitches, a FIFA2 professional quality all-weather surface, a 400-metre running track, a large multi-purpose gymnasium, and outdoor tennis and basketball courts. Its libraries, as key outstanding facilities, cultivate independent lifelong learners by providing abundant resources and guiding students to use information critically and ethically. The college is a pioneer among Suzhou’s international schools with fully filtered fresh air systems across the entire campus, ensuring fresh and clean air in all classrooms and common areas to support students’ health and academic performance. Dulwich College Suzhou operates rolling admissions alongside set primary entry periods. Applications are accepted year-round and reviewed on a case-by-case basis, with late applications considered if vacancies exist in the relevant grade level.

Co-created with staff and students, this comprehensive framework is based on four guiding principles centering on student health and wellbeing, shared community responsibility, valuing student voices, and addressing the root causes of poor wellbeing. The school engages students through three forms—Student Voice, Student Agency and Student Partnership—with diverse initiatives covering feedback expression and peer mental health support, and also emphasizes the essential home-school partnership, providing holistic support systems for students and families, encouraging parental engagement in their children’s education to jointly foster students’ positive wellbeing.
