Per formare individui equilibrati, gli studenti partecipano a una serie di attivit\u00e0 extrascolastiche. Partecipano a eventi sportivi e artistici locali (ISSAK) e internazionali (ISSEA) e sono coinvolti in attivit\u00e0 di servizio a scuola e nella comunit\u00e0 in generale. L'ISU ha fondato la sezione ugandese del Model United Nations (MUN) e la ospita da cinque anni. L'ISU \u00e8 una scuola inclusiva, il che significa che forniamo supporto all'apprendimento per studenti con bisogni speciali, studenti dotati e talentuosi. Autoselezione per il Diploma Programme dell'International Baccalaureate: tutti gli studenti di 11\u00b0 e 12\u00b0 anno seguono le materie del Diploma e sono incoraggiati a provare il Diploma IB completo. Se gli studenti non completano le valutazioni interne o non rispettano scadenze cruciali, vengono indirizzati al corso di certificazione IB. Tutti gli studenti laureati ricevono un Diploma ISU, convalidato sia dalla Middles States Association of Colleges and Schools che dal Council of International Schools.<\/p>\n
Il nostro consulente universitario collabora con gli studenti e i loro genitori per guidarli nel processo di ammissione all'universit\u00e0. La maggior parte dei laureati dell'ISU frequenta universit\u00e0 negli Stati Uniti o nel Regno Unito. La comunit\u00e0 internazionale dell'ISU \u00e8 composta da oltre 530 studenti di oltre 50 nazionalit\u00e0 diverse. L'ISU conta 65 insegnanti qualificati ed esperti a tempo pieno, provenienti da tutto il mondo, tra cui l'Uganda. ISU teachers use the best research-based teaching methods centered on a dynamic international curriculum that meets a global standard for the best education available, the widely acclaimed and highly respected International Baccalaureate (IB) Programmes. In the Junior School, Early Childhood to grade 5, the curriculum is based on the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP). While providing a strong foundation in all subject areas, the programme focuses on the social, physical, emotional and cultural development of the child. It provides structured inquiry as a vehicle for learning which is carried forward in the other two IB programmes. In the Senior School, the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) forms the core of ISU's educational focus for students in grades 6 to 10. The inter-disciplinary approach to learning develops students' critical thinking abilities and communication skills and offers an academically challenging and stimulating programme of study. In grades 11 and 12 students follow the IB Diploma Programme (DP). Considered the leading edge of secondary education today and the \"gold standard\" of high school diplomas, this programme of study allows students to expand their horizons and challenge their abilities.\u00a0 ISU has a specialist centre for teaching English as an Additional Languages (EAL) and a Learning Support (LS) Centre for those students with special needs and who are gifted and talented.
