L'\u00e9cole est pass\u00e9e de treize enfants en 1996 \u00e0 500 aujourd'hui, originaires de 55 pays. Les \u00e9l\u00e8ves sont scolaris\u00e9s sur deux sites\u00a0: de la maternelle au lyc\u00e9e, sur le campus scolaire sp\u00e9cialement con\u00e7u \u00e0 cet effet, dans le centre historique de Dresde. L'\u00e9cole maternelle (1 \u00e0 5 ans) est install\u00e9e dans une belle villa du campus pr\u00e9scolaire de Dresde-Blasewitz.
\nGr\u00e2ce \u00e0 une \u00e9troite collaboration entre les enseignants et \u00e0 des classes \u00e0 effectif r\u00e9duit, nous garantissons la r\u00e9ussite scolaire de tous nos \u00e9l\u00e8ves. Notre garderie p\u00e9riscolaire et notre atelier de devoirs offrent un environnement s\u00fbr et stimulant pour tous les \u00e9l\u00e8ves jusqu'au CM2, o\u00f9 ils peuvent travailler et se divertir.<\/p>\n
Bien que l'anglais soit la langue d'enseignement \u00e0 l'\u00e9cole, les \u00e9l\u00e8ves n'ont pas besoin de ma\u00eetriser l'anglais pour int\u00e9grer nos programmes. Les \u00e9l\u00e8ves ayant peu ou pas de connaissances en anglais suivent des cours d'anglais langue suppl\u00e9mentaire (EAL) o\u00f9 ils sont aid\u00e9s en petits groupes, parfois individuellement. L'allemand comme langue suppl\u00e9mentaire est \u00e9galement propos\u00e9 afin d'aider les \u00e9l\u00e8ves \u00e0 apprendre la langue de l'environnement ext\u00e9rieur \u00e0 l'\u00e9cole. Cela permet une int\u00e9gration en douceur dans la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 de Dresde. L'espagnol est propos\u00e9 comme langue \u00e9trang\u00e8re suppl\u00e9mentaire \u00e0 partir de la 6\u00e8me ann\u00e9e. Le mandarin est propos\u00e9 comme premi\u00e8re langue \u00e0 partir de la premi\u00e8re ann\u00e9e. Nous enseignons l'allemand au niveau de la langue parl\u00e9e \u00e0 la maison et nous encourageons et soutenons les \u00e9l\u00e8ves ayant une autre langue parl\u00e9e \u00e0 la maison \u00e0 poursuivre l'apprentissage de leur premi\u00e8re langue. <\/p>\n
L'apprentissage \u00e9tant une approche holistique, nous prenons \u00e9galement en compte le d\u00e9veloppement social et \u00e9motionnel de chaque \u00e9l\u00e8ve. DIS is the only International Baccalaureate (IB) World School in Saxony to offer all three IB programs:Age 3 - Grade 5: Primary Years Program

\nThe school is divided into three sections: Preschool, Primary School and Secondary School. Co-curricular activities are spread across Primary and Secondary School.
\nThe IB program leads internationally-minded students to the universally recognized IB Diploma which gives them the choice of universities for further study and helps them to become informed participants in their communities around the world. In addition, students can receive the High School Diploma and the MYP certificate.
\nThe majority of our students leave DIS as bilingual or trilingual learners. On average 70% of our students graduate with a bilingual diploma. Along with mastering more than one language, students learn how to think critically, solve complex problems, and are prepared to engage in a globalized, ever-changing world. We are proud of our graduates, most of whom study abroad. However, there are also a large number of graduates who study at German universities.

Starting after the last school period until 18:00, DIS offers a daily supplementary educational and recreational program. Here, students can engage in a wide range of pursuits including debating, coding, dance, chess, various sports, and writing.

Students also have the opportunity to take part in tournaments against other German international schools and students from local areas.
