L'\u00c9cole Internationale d'Ouganda (ISU), anciennement Lincoln International School, est situ\u00e9e sur un campus verdoyant de 13 hectares, construit sp\u00e9cialement \u00e0 cet effet, dans le quartier paisible de Lubowa \u00e0 Kampala. Elle est \u00e0 la pointe de l'\u00e9ducation internationale en Ouganda depuis plus de 52 ans. L'ISU est un \u00e9tablissement \u00e0 but non lucratif, dirig\u00e9 par un conseil d'administration compos\u00e9 de sept membres \u00e9lus et de deux membres nomm\u00e9s. Nous investissons continuellement dans nos \u00e9l\u00e8ves, nos programmes \u00e9ducatifs, notre personnel et notre campus. Nous proposons les prestigieux programmes du Baccalaur\u00e9at International (IB) suivants\u00a0: \u2022 Programme primaire (PP) pour les 3 \u00e0 11\u00a0ans\u00a0; \u2022 Programme de premier cycle secondaire (PEI) pour les 11 \u00e0 16\u00a0ans\u00a0; et \u2022 Programme du dipl\u00f4me (DP) pour les 16 \u00e0 19\u00a0ans. L'\u00e9cole de la petite enfance accueille les enfants d\u00e8s l'\u00e2ge de 2 ans et demi. Nos installations comprennent quatre laboratoires scientifiques ultramodernes et enti\u00e8rement \u00e9quip\u00e9s, trois salles informatiques avec acc\u00e8s internet et Wi-Fi sur tout le campus, une biblioth\u00e8que de 25\u00a0000 volumes, deux terrains de sport, une salle omnisports, une piste de 400\u00a0m, deux piscines, quatre courts de tennis et des locaux d\u00e9di\u00e9s \u00e0 l'\u00e9ducation de la petite enfance. L'\u00e9cole construit actuellement un centre artistique qui comprendra des salles de musique, d'arts visuels, de danse et de th\u00e9\u00e2tre, ainsi qu'un auditorium de 450\u00a0places. Les travaux devraient \u00eatre termin\u00e9s en\u00a02020.<\/p>\n
Afin de former des individus \u00e9quilibr\u00e9s, les \u00e9l\u00e8ves participent \u00e0 diverses activit\u00e9s extrascolaires. Ils participent \u00e0 des \u00e9v\u00e9nements sportifs et artistiques locaux (ISSAK) et internationaux (ISSEA), et s'impliquent dans des actions de service \u00e0 l'\u00e9cole et dans la communaut\u00e9. L'ISU a fond\u00e9 la section ougandaise du Mod\u00e8le des Nations Unies (MUN) et l'h\u00e9berge depuis cinq ans. L'ISU est une \u00e9cole inclusive, ce qui signifie que nous offrons un soutien scolaire aux \u00e9l\u00e8ves ayant des besoins particuliers, aux \u00e9l\u00e8ves dou\u00e9s et aux \u00e9l\u00e8ves talentueux. Nous proposons un soutien dans les classes ordinaires, ainsi que des classes sp\u00e9ciales o\u00f9 nous travaillons sur les comp\u00e9tences qu'ils pourraient avoir en difficult\u00e9. Nous offrons \u00e9galement un soutien aux \u00e9l\u00e8ves qui apprennent l'anglais comme langue \u00e9trang\u00e8re (EAL).<\/p>\n
Auto-s\u00e9lection pour le Programme du dipl\u00f4me du Baccalaur\u00e9at International \u2013 Tous les \u00e9l\u00e8ves de 11e et 12e ann\u00e9e suivent les mati\u00e8res du dipl\u00f4me et sont encourag\u00e9s \u00e0 tenter l'examen complet du dipl\u00f4me de l'IB. Si les \u00e9l\u00e8ves ne r\u00e9ussissent pas les \u00e9valuations internes ou ne respectent pas les \u00e9ch\u00e9ances cruciales, ils sont orient\u00e9s vers le certificat de l'IB. Tous les \u00e9l\u00e8ves dipl\u00f4m\u00e9s re\u00e7oivent un dipl\u00f4me de l'ISU, valid\u00e9 par la Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools et le Council of International Schools.<\/p>\n
Notre conseiller d'orientation accompagne les \u00e9tudiants et leurs parents dans le processus de candidature \u00e0 l'universit\u00e9. La majorit\u00e9 des dipl\u00f4m\u00e9s de l'ISU poursuivent leurs \u00e9tudes aux \u00c9tats-Unis ou au Royaume-Uni. La communaut\u00e9 internationale de l'ISU compte plus de 530 \u00e9tudiants de plus de 50 nationalit\u00e9s diff\u00e9rentes. L'ISU compte 65 enseignants qualifi\u00e9s et exp\u00e9riment\u00e9s \u00e0 temps plein, originaires du monde entier, y compris d'Ouganda. Pr\u00e8s de la moiti\u00e9 des enseignants sont titulaires d'un master ou d'un dipl\u00f4me de troisi\u00e8me cycle.<\/p>\n
L'ISU exploite 17 lignes de bus diff\u00e9rentes pour transporter des \u00e9tudiants venus de Kampala et d'Entebbe. ISU teachers use the best research-based teaching methods centered on a dynamic international curriculum that meets a global standard for the best education available, the widely acclaimed and highly respected International Baccalaureate (IB) Programmes. In the Junior School, Early Childhood to grade 5, the curriculum is based on the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP). While providing a strong foundation in all subject areas, the programme focuses on the social, physical, emotional and cultural development of the child. It provides structured inquiry as a vehicle for learning which is carried forward in the other two IB programmes. In the Senior School, the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) forms the core of ISU's educational focus for students in grades 6 to 10. The inter-disciplinary approach to learning develops students' critical thinking abilities and communication skills and offers an academically challenging and stimulating programme of study. In grades 11 and 12 students follow the IB Diploma Programme (DP).
