Die Klassen 7 und 9 sind unsere beiden Hauptaufnahmestufen. Rangi is Christchurch\u2019s only girls\u2019 school offering a true Years 7 to 13 experience, delivering a seamless curriculum by specialist teachers at all year levels. We believe in NCEA because it is a level playing field and a true New Zealand qualification that is well understood offshore.<\/p>

Rangi is consistently in the top 3% of New Zealand schools for academic achievement. In national and international competitions and examinations, a high proportion of students feature at the top of their chosen fields of endeavour. More than 95% of Rangi girls go on to further tertiary study in New Zealand and overseas, many gaining substantial scholarships as a result of their work at school, and our dedicated Careers and Pathways Strategist who works with each girl one on one.<\/p>\n

The New Zealand Curriculum
\nRangi Ruru follows the New Zealand Curriculum, which specifies eight learning areas:<\/p>\n

    The learning associated with each area is part of a broad, general education and lays a foundation for later specialisation. As with the key competencies, this learning is both end and means; valuable in itself and valuable for the pathways it opens to other learning.<\/p>\n

    While the learning areas are presented as distinct, this does not limit the ways in which we can structure the learning experiences offered to students. All learning should make use of the natural connections that exist between learning areas and that link learning areas to the values and key competencies.<\/p>","extra_curricula_description":"

    Rangi Ruru offers different sports, music, theatre arts and group activities. Sport at Rangi Ruru is as much about participation and fun as it is about competition, challenge and success at the top level.<\/p>\n

    Each year up to 30 different sporting options are on offer to Rangi students. In all options, girls can participate either on a social or a highly competitive level.<\/p>\n

    Through our diverse and inclusive programmes, girls develop highly desirable skills in areas such as leadership, self-management, creativity, analysis, performance, collaboration, problem-solving, communication, curiosity, risk-taking and an ability to think outside the square. Most importantly they learn about empathy \u2013 how to \u2018walk in another\u2019s shoes\u2019 \u2013 through performing, creating, analysing and listening to music.<\/p>\n

    Theatre Arts (Drama and Dance) offers a huge variety of performance opportunities for girls of all ages.<\/p>\n

    Both drama and dance form part of the curriculum for Years 7 to 9 and become options for Years 10 to 13. Drama and Dance are very popular curricular and co-curricular activities at Rangi Ruru and hundreds of girls each year get involved in school productions as cast and crew. There are a number of opportunities for girls to get involved with drama and dance, including the schools major productions (junior and senior) and joining one of our multiple dance companies.<\/p>\n
